I recently purchased a new computer and decided to install Windows 7 – well I like a challenge! Windows 7 appears to be Vista mark 2 with (hopefully) its most irritating features corrected. I installed the 32-bit version.

Most of the programs required running as administrator – fairly easy in 7 as you just need to right-click the icon and select “run as administrator”.

This is the story so far:

IRIS: Fine no issues
Maxim4: OK
Maxim5: OK
SkyMap Pro 11: OK
The_Sky6: OK
Starry Night Pro Plus5: complicated install and it only half runs. I think I need openGL drivers.
Picture Window: OK
Pstyler2: OK
Photoshop CS2: OK but registration screen doesn’t go away until you run register as administrator
Dreamweaver CS3: OK
UltraVNC: OK
WS-FTP6: no go – not compatible
Nero: my old version is incompatible so replaced with Nero Lite.
