I listened to this programme earlier:
It was made in 2011 to mark Neptune's "first birthday" (one Neptunian year since its discovery), and includes Allan Chapman talking about the race to detect it in 1846 and William Lassell's discovery of Triton.
And there's also an interesting theory that Galileo saw it through his telescope around 1610, whilst watching nearby Jupiter.
