I've just spotted that Billet Parts have another batch of MS Lifecam adaptors in stock. There's only 8 left now if your after one.

No its just the mounting the tube, I ordred the MS Lifecam as well.

They have both arrived yesterday, now I'm going to mod the CCD and put it in the tube, that's if I don't break it ;)

I will let you know how I get on

Regards

Bill

Mine arrived yesterday as well. I'll be modding the webcam over the weekend.

The adaptor is a lightweight machined part specifically made for the Microsoft Lifecam Cinema HD The life cam is then modified so it fits inside the adaptor giving it the same profile as a 1.25" eyepiece.

I have ordered this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-LifeC ... omputers_1
which is the 1080p version - will this be able to be retro-fitted to the adaptor???
Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy

The one I got was the Microsoft Lifecam Cinema HD

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002 ... 00_s00_i00

Not had time to pull it to pieces yet, check out this web site to see if it looks the same

Regards

Bill

I think the Studio looks to be bigger

Image

I'm not sure how accurate these dimensions are, they were taken from Microsofts website, the cinema is shown as 24mm wide but this is actually the width of the narrow part of the bracket that hangs down, which widens out to 40mm (we need to remove this bit anyway). The actual diameter of the webcam itself is more like 26.5mm, which is a good fit inside the adaptor.

On the image of the Studio the 40mm could well be referring to that wide part of the bracket. Which might make them very similar, although the studio does look slightly bigger to me.

Yes it does look a lot bigger, not sure if there is a 2" verson of the adapter?

Phil

What's happened to the sky, nothing to look at yet
